We’ve developed a programme that integrates seamlessly into schools, helping address mental health in a holistic and impactful way, providing teachers with the tools, resources, and strategies they need to foster emotional well-being and resilience in students.

Who Created The Mental Health Project?

The Mental Health Project was founded by Dr. Sian Morris and Faye Kinirons, experienced psychologists and educators. With a strong background in both education and mental health, they have developed practical resources to empower teachers and support students effectively.

What Is The Mission Of The Mental Health Project?

Our mission is to empower schools to address mental health proactively by equipping teachers and parents with evidence-based tools and strategies. We aim to foster emotional well-being and resilience in students, creating nurturing school environments where young people can thrive.

The program is delivered digitally, making it accessible anytime and anywhere. Teachers log in to access: Guided videos that explain key mental health topics. Ready-to-use activities and workbooks to engage students. Tailored resources for parents and students, ensuring continuity of learning beyond the classroom.

What age groups is it for?

Our mental health programme is designed for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (students aged 11–16), aligning with their developmental needs and school curricula.

Can parents or caregivers participate?

Absolutely! Parents and caregivers are essential partners in supporting young people’s mental health. Our tailored resources empower families to reinforce strategies at home, creating a cohesive support system and amplifying the programme’s impact.

Is the programme aligned with official guidelines?

Yes, all our resources are aligned with: UK Government statutory guidelines on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). PSHE Association recommendations on mental health and emotional well-being. This ensures schools can address mental health confidently while meeting national requirements.

Is prior experience required to teach this?

No prior mental health training is required. Our easy-to-follow materials and brief teacher training videos provide all the guidance educators need to confidently lead meaningful discussions with confidence.

How much time is needed weekly?

Lessons are designed to fit into PSHE classes, typically lasting 45 minutes to an hour. However, they could be broken into shorter sessions if your school prefers to run them during tutor time. This flexibility ensures the programme integrates seamlessly into your schedule.

How does the programme help teachers and students?

The Mental Health Project equips schools with: Brief training videos to build teachers’ confidence in addressing mental health. Digital resources tailored to topics like anxiety, low mood, and exam stress. A shared framework and language for discussing mental health, fostering a supportive and inclusive school culture. Individual access options for students who miss lessons, ensuring no one is left behind. How long do I have access?

Our memberships run annually, aligned with the academic year (September to September). Flexible start dates are available if you’d like to begin mid-year. Contact us to discuss a plan that suits your school.

Can schools access a free trial of your mental health programme?

Yes, schools can trial the program! We’re proud of our resources and happy to give decision-makers the opportunity to explore them before committing. You can access a selection of resources on our Sample Resources page and take advantage of a one-week trial. This allows those in charge of purchasing or organising mental health resources to determine if our program is the right fit for your school.
