Our Story

We met while studying for our Doctorates in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy. As friends and colleagues who worked with young people in schools and therapeutically we realised we were coming across a universal problem centred around mental health and education.

Young people need to know how to manage their mental health day-to-day. We feel passionately that this knowledge should not be restricted to those who have access to individual therapy or resources at home. At the same time teachers are being asked to respond to the growing mental health needs of their pupils, on top of what is already an overwhelming workload in their schools.

The Mental Health Project’s mission is to provide schools with a mental health curriculum that equips teachers with practical tools and strategies to foster emotional well-being and resilience in students. By integrating seamlessly into the school environment, we help educators address mental health holistically and meaningfully, preparing students for success both in the classroom and beyond.
